My Current Role & Responsibilities:
A
formal education and training in services sector helped me in developing soft
skills very early in my career. Apart from gaining technical expertise, this
exposed me to develop certain personal attributes such as critical thinking,
problem solving, resilience, teamwork, self-awareness and confidence including
developing overall emotional intelligence which went a long way and laying the
foundation to pretty much what I am today.
Challenges Faced:
One of the biggest challenges that I faced and even see a lot of women around struggling with is to under-represent their achievements in the workplace and beyond. Along with that challenge the social perception about self-promotion. Also, in many instances, probably due to social and cultural norms, women tend to grow certain underlying fears that hold them back from exploring their true potential and further hit by a sense of self-doubt and being risk averse.
The
biggest change that I had to bring in, was the change in my mindset. This is
what I do, this is what I have done and this is what I am good at... Never shy
away from taking up leadership responsibilities for big projects and raising
your hands to take up challenges where you think that you are not yet ready but
deep within you know that you'll do a great job.
Words Of Wisdom To Restart Your Career:
I have explained that in the previous point .But to every woman who aspires to have a seat on the table ,never shy away from taking up bigger and challenging roles ,even if you are unsure that you can do it ...Continue to learn ,try multiple things, take risks and condition yourself to say "Iamremarkable".
