Over the years, I have also built expertise in intellectual property management, regulatory compliance, and technology transfer, which have been critical to my journey as a technopreneur. Tough times are inevitable in any entrepreneurial journey, and I have always approached them with persistence and adaptability. Whether it was securing funding in a high-risk industry or navigating regulatory hurdles, I relied on problem-solving skills, a strong professional network, and a never-give-up attitude. I have learned that challenges often bring opportunities for growth, and resilience is key to overcoming obstacles and achieving long-term success. Through my work in probiotics and R&D, I have contributed to advancements in gut health and animal nutrition. As a first-generation entrepreneur, I have not only built successful businesses but also created employment opportunities and mentored others in the industry. My patents, research contributions, and involvement in business development have had a meaningful impact on the field of nutraceuticals. Additionally, being featured in various publications and receiving multiple awards has allowed me to inspire other women entrepreneurs. One of the most significant milestones was securing Series A funding for my venture in a high-risk industry. This was a turning point that validated my efforts, allowing my company to expand and innovate further. Additionally, receiving the Business Woman of the Year award by EMerg in 2014 and other recognitions, such as patents and entrepreneurship awards, reinforced my belief that I was making a real impact in my field. For me, success is a combination of innovation, impact, and continuous growth. It is about creating solutions that improve lives, building sustainable businesses, and inspiring others along the way. My goals include expanding my ventures further, contributing to new research in probiotics and gut health, and mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs. Development of Selenium enriched Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) to serve as a dietary supplement
The aim of the project was to provide yeast cells with selenium so that it would be incorporated into specific amino acids, thus attaining an organic form. The idea is that the bioavailability of the mineral increases by several fold when it is provided in an organic form.
